Abu Dhabi, 17 Mar 2014: The colourful Holi celebrations were held at the Corncihe beach on Friday the 14th March 2014 by Indian Ladies Association Abu Dhabi.
Holi is one of the most vibrant festivals of India as it is a celebration of rejoicing with colour. Since its inception in 1976, Indian Ladies Association (ILA) has been organizing most of the Indian festivals to celebrate the fervor of India on this foreign soil, with its members and guests. This is the fifth consecutive year where ILA is conducting Holi at the expansive Corniche Beach, Abu Dhabi. What is more remarkable is that this year, 10% of the proceeds from the tickets sales has been pledged to provide ‘Holi’ lunch for the labourers.
The event was conducted in association with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Abu Dhabi. Strategic planning and meticulous arrangements gave way to a fantastic and unparalleled event, which got a footfall of two thousand people (members, friends and guests) on the beach.
The magical and colourful event was graced by Indian Ambassador, H.E. T. P. Seetharam and his wife, Mrs. Deepa Seetharam, who is also the Chairperson of ILA.

The highlights of the festivities were the live DJ, Dhol (traditional drum), Rain Dance, Photo Booth and Hand Print Station. Food counters from Salam Bombay and Zaika provided festive specialties such as Thandai, Gujjiyas, PavBhaji and Chat. ILA had its own food counter, which had kids’ favorite such as the Donuts & Pizzas. AloKozay and Al Rawabi Group generously provided free tea and juice to all the visitors. Our other sponsors for the day were Bank of Baroda, Liwa Group and Country Club.
ILA next charitable program is set for 22-Mar-2014, where Holi Lunch will be provided to the labourers and ILA wish to get tremendous response for the same.
