Kundapur, 10 Mar 2014: Stree Songhotton of Our Lady of Rosary parish, here celebrated Women’s Day at parish hall, here on Sunday March 9.
Our Lady of Rosary parish priest Fr Anil D’Souza inaugurated the programme here on Sunday morning.
Fr Anil in his inaugural address said that God created woman because he was unable to love everyone. Therefore, every women lacking behind has to put on their efforts to come forward and catch up with the successful women, said Fr Anil.
The assistant parish priest Fr Santosh P Pereira distributed the prizes to the winners of various sports competitions.
St Joseph’s Convent superior Sr Vibha conveyed best wishes to all women.
Kundapur deanery Catholic Stree Songhotton president Vinaya D’Costa, parish council secretary Felcian D’Souza and other members of Stree Songhotton were present at the dais.
Stree Songhton president Shaila D’Almeida welcomed the gathering. The secretary Laveena D’Almeida proposed vote of thanks. Juliet Pais compered the programme.
The members of Stree Songhotton presented variety dances as part of cultural programmes.
‘Tum Nain Sadarnachin,’ short drama with the theme for women was staged by the artistes of parishioners by playwright and director Bernard J D’Costa.
