Doha / Qatar, 9 Feb 2014: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ), a socio-cultural organization of Kannadigas’ organized a get-together event, Chow Chow Bath at Al Maha Academy for Boys, here on Friday February 7. This was the second event of the year 2014 organized by KSQ for Kannadiga expats in State of Qatar.
The program began with Kannada Sangha Qatar theme song and dance lead by music director Ashwin.
The KSQ Committee members were escorted to the stage along with president Deepak Shetty and vice president Nagesh Rao.
Deepak Shetty welcomed the gathering and also updated the planned programmes for year 2014 by KSQ. He said that KSQ was born for the purpose of keeping alive mother tongue Kannada and Karnataka culture. He also added that the programme, Chow Chow Bath will be held in order to encourage up and coming talent.
GCC Kannadiga expatriates telephone directory published by Irfan Sharif was released on the same occasion.
Syed Abdul after releasing the directory said, ‘This is a directory of all Kannadiga expatriate residing in GCC and it is a first time in history moving towards strengthen unity among Kannadigas,’ said Syed.
Bunts Sangha Qatar president Ravi Shetty and KMCA president Niyed Ahmed were present on the occasion.
The artistes Savious Crasta, Venkata Rao, K M Pai and Manjunath presented skits and mimicry that was very much appreciated by the audiences.
The programmnes were followed by solo dance by Venkat Rao, Sridar and Hemanth Shetty. The Bharathantyam dance by Sushma Sandesh and Kruthika Ashwin was applauded by the audience.
The spot games on Kannnada Proverbs (Jagali Katte) was conducted by Manjunath and audience enjoyed full event with lots of fun.
The team event Dumb charades was also held on the occasion. Madok Prasad and Manu Prasad won first prize in the event. Ramesh K S and Ganesh V won second prize and Stephen D’Souza and Savious Crasta team won third prize respectively.
The program was concluded with Model Couple Contest compered by Arvind Patil and Rupa Pramod. The Best Couple 2014 award was won by Madok Prasad and Manu Prasad. Mahesh and Suchitra Mahesh won runner up prize in the same event.
The audience enjoyed tea and snacks.
