Beltangady, 4 Feb 2014: The anointing of feet of Bhagwan Bahubali’s monolithic sculptor was held with 218 vessels filled with ghee, kumkum and turmeric after the colorful procession at Ratnagiri hill, Dharmasthala, here on Tuesday February 4.
Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Hemavati Veerendra Heggade, D Harshendra Kumar, Supriya Harshendra Kumar and D Rajendra Kumar participated in this age-old tradition.
Speaking on the occasion, Swami Lalitakirti Bhattaraka of Karkal Jain mutt said that Bhagwan Bahubali had set an example to the mankind that is based on love, non-violence, sacrifice and peace to resolve several issues that is affecting the people, said Swami Bhattaraka.
The worship lies in following the teachings of Bhagwan. The religion thrives in belief in God, if one practices his/her religion one would get eternity, said Swami Bhattaraka.
Swami Laxmisena Bhattaraka of Basti mutt, Narasimharajapura also graced the occasion.
