Mangalore: Canute’s Musical Nite enthralls Music-lovers at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar

Mangalore, 3 Feb 2014: Canute’s Musical Nite, was staged by Konkani’s ever shining and most dedicated singer Canute Mathias and his music group, to the packed audiences at Noreen and Ronald Mendonca amphitheater, Kalaangann, Shaktinagar, here on Sunday February 2 evening.  It was presented as one-hundred-forty-sixth monthly theater by Mandd Sobhann, city-based Konkani organization striving to promote Konkani and its distinct culture worldwide.  The monthly-theater was sponsored by Francis Cardoza Qatar.

 
Canute has created history in Konkani music by releasing 4 CDs in less than a month, which was pursued as unrealistic by almost all musicians.  He has to his credit of staging his mega show, wherein almost all the leading Konkani musicians including veterans gathered and presented a scintillating music to a large gathering of audiences at Shirva parish grounds, in Udupi diocese during December 2013.

 
Canute group comprised up and coming singers Joy D’Almeida Dubai, Lavita and Clarissa presented 10 songs both catered to the interests of young and old alike.  The drummer Roshan, lead guitarists, tabla artiste, keyboard instrumentalists assisted in presenting a superb show.  The music-buffs indeed were enthralled with the scintillating music.

 

   

 
Canute thanked Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario who motivated him to achieve the impossible that is to release 4 CDs in less than a month.

 
Eric Ozario in his brief message said that Konkani music field needs Canute like enterprising musicians to achieve the impossible who can take the Konkani music to greater heights.  He also thanked Canute for being the founder member of proposed Konkani museum.

 
Mandd Sobhnn trustee Arun Raj Rodrigues welcomed the gathering.  Alwyn Dantis Pernal compered the programme.  Eric Ozario proposed vote of thanks.
