Moodubelle, 10 September 2010: Sixteen groups of enthusiastic parishioners participated in the Talent Day competition on Wednesday, 8th September 2010. The programme started at 4.30 pm and continued till 9.30 pm. The preparation for this great day has been done since many days by the ICYM youths led by President Bradly Martis under the guidance of Fr. Arun Mendonca.
The programme was presided over by Fr. Joswey Fernandes. Mr. John Menezes, the former Principal of St. Lawrence Composite PU College was the chief guest. Other guests of honour included: Fr. Sunil D’Souza, Fr. Paul Sequeira, Fr. Lancy Saldanha, Fr. Arun Mendonca, Mr. Henry Fernandes and Mrs. Meera Lobo, , Vice President and Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Committee respectively. Fr. Simon Paul D’Souza (CSSR), Fr. Maxim Pinto (OFM) and Br. Sydney Dias (Holy Cross Regent) were the judges.
Lloyd Rebello and Maxim D’Sa anchored the programme. Bradley Martis, President of the ICYM welcomed the guests and participants as well as the audience for the programme. The Talent Day competitions were formally inaugurated by Fr. Joswey and the guests lighting the lamp.
During this occasion, Mr. John Menezes was felicitated by Fr. Joswey Fernandes by offering him shawl, garland and fruits. In his message, Mr. John Menezes said that God has given talents to everyone. These talents should be developed by children right from their school. Parents and teachers should discover the talents of their children and give them support and encouragement to develop these talents.
All the groups and individual members of each group put up very good performance and showed their talents along with entertaining the audience who had attended the programme in large numbers. At the end of the programme, Rohan D’Souza, Secretary of the ICYM proposed the vote of thanks.

Best MC: 1. Lloyd Rebello 2. Hilda D’Souza and 3. Alan Mathias
Best Actor: Male-Amit Mathias; Female-Jovita and Teresa Lobo
Best Singer: Male-Cyprian Castelino; Female-Carol D’Souza
Best dancer: male-Delson D’Souza; Female-Fiona D’Souza
Special Talent: Sahara
Best Overall Performance by Groups: 1. Neville D’Souza’s Group: Rs. ,2,000/- and Trophy
2. Johnson Miranda’s Group: Rs. 1500/- and Trophy
3. Henry Alva’s Group: Rs.1000/- and Trophy
Fr. Joswey also presented mementos to the three judges.
