Kundapur, 25 Dec 2013: The state health minister U T Khader partaken in the Christmas celebration at Our Lady of Rosary parish here on Wednesday December 25 at 1.30pm.
Earlier, parish choir group presented melodious Christmas carols, while parish priest Fr Anil D’Souza offered the festal Holy Mass along with St Mary’s College principal Fr Praveen Amrut Martis and parishioner clergy Fr Leo D’Souza at Wednesday 12.00am.
The parishioners were indeed delighted to have the minister U T Khader in their midst during the Christmas celebration at the parish here on Wednesday at 1.30am.
Speaking on the occasion, minister U T Khader said, ‘I am happy to partake in Christmas celebration in Our Lady of Miracles parish that has history of over 400 years. The sacrifices of ancestors ought to be reminisced on the occasion. Christmas is the feast of joy, love and brotherhood,’ said minister U T Khader.
‘We have lot to learn from others. Its essential that new generation recalls the struggles, sufferings, devoutness of our ancestors. The worldly possessions such as posh car, bungalow, wealth, gold etc are not real assets. The good character indeed is true wealth. Let us build a society that thrives on peaceful co-existence and brotherhood,’ said minister U T Khader. He thanked the gathering in Konkani, ‘Tumka Dev Boren Karum.’
Our Lady of Rosary parish ICYM unit presented cake and raffle draw on the same occasion.
Our Lady of Rosary parish priest Fr Anil D’Souza welcomed minister U T Khader, along with dignitaries, parish council office bearers and a large number of parishioners.
