Kundapur, 23 Dec 2013: The city-based Gurukula Public School organized kite competitions and to create sand sculpture for the students at Koteshwar beach, here on Sunday December 22.
The sandalwood renowned musician and music director Gurukiran inaugurated this unique programme here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurukiran said, ‘Kite is the symbol of peace. The kite festival indeed brings solace to one who is struggling to be sane in this chaotic world,’ said Gurukiran.
Bandya Education Trust chairman B Appanna Hegde, Kundapur DySP C B Patil, Kundapur Education Trust chairman B M Sukumar Shetty, Bandya Education Trust joint managing trustees Bandya Subaschandra Shetty and Anupama S Shetty, Bandya Education Trust administrator Prabhakar Shetty and others were the chief guests present.
The internationally-acclaimed ‘Team Mangalore’ displayed wide varieties of kites on the sky.
The students of Gurukula Public School displayed sand sculpture on the shore.
Thousands of people viewed the spectacular view of kite display and sand sculpture.
The school head teacher Roopa Shenoy welcomed the gathering. Shivaprasad compered the programme.
