Mangalore, 17 Dec 2013: The department of forensic medicine and toxicology of A J Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, here organized Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on ‘Forensics with a Future Perspective’ here on Saturday December 14.
A J Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre director Prashanth Shetty inaugurated the event and appreciated the efforts of department of forensic medicine in furthering the scientific approach towards crime investigation. He also highlighted the department’s contribution towards various academic activities of the institution.
A J Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre director – administration Dr Amitha Marla, Dean Dr Ramesh Pai, Medical Superintendent Dr Brigadier Hemant Kumar were present on the occasion.
A J Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre head of department of forensic medicine and toxicology Professor Dr Jayaprakasha K welcomed the gathering.
CME organizing secretary and forensic medicine and toxicology Professor Dr Francis N P Monteiro proposed the vote of thanks.
The resource persons for the programme were Dr Devadas P K, Dr Vina Vaswani, Dr Muktha Pai, Dr Jayaprakasha K and Dr Francis N P Monteiro who elaborated various topics on forensic medicine and its emerging trends.
Around 200 delegates from Karnataka and neighboring states attended this CME.
