Kundapur, 17 Dec 2013: Kambla, the buffalo’s race of erstwhile Tulunadu was held at the Mandadi that comes under the limits of Hombady gram panchayat, near here on Sunday December 15.
Over 30 buffalo pairs participated in the Kambla that was being held since 3 to 4 generations of a distinct landlord’s family.
The retired PWD executive engineer Ratnakar Shetty led Kambla that was held in 5 acre silted-paddy-field here on Sunday morning.
The state Kambla award recipient B Shantaram Shetty inaugurated the Kambala on the occasion.
N Manjayya Shetty Sablady, S Dinakar Shetty, entrepreneur Mandady Rajeev Shetty, village elder Babanna were the chief guests of stage programme.
The youth and sports department assistant project officer S Dinakar Hegde and former gram panchayat president Ganesh Shetty was the juror of Kambla were present.
The physical instructor Prakash Shetty compered the programme. The lecturer Uday Shetty welcomed and proposed vote of thanks.
