Mangalore, 17 Dec 2013: Spandana Trust, a NGO organized annual day and Christmas celebrations at Infant Mary’s Convent school, Jeppu, here on Sunday December 15.
The programme was very educative and entertaining. The members of women self-help-groups, dignitaries, guests and others were present on the occasion.
Infant Mary’s Convent superior Sr Sylvia Fernandes presided the programme.
Sr Sylvia in her presidential address congratulated the women self-help-groups for their upliftment and wished prosperity and peace in their lives.
MLA J R Lobo, MLA in his chief guest’s address said that helping others is the best service rendered to the people who are in need. One also gets peace of mind by helping others and it would contribute for better society.
Jeppu – St Joseph’s College principal Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza in his Christmas message cited from the creation of the world how God has remembered and helped His creations and brought them back to His love and care through the Prophets. The same way when people were adamant to His teachings He sent His only son Jesus Christ, born of Virgin Mary through Holy Spirit to save the world from sins and show the path of sinless life. Through two stories the sharing of things and showing love to each other, said Fr Wilfred.
As part of the programme prize distribution for excellency was organized followed by variety entertainment programme.
Spandana Trust administrator Sr Evangeline welcomed the gathering. Victor Vas read the activities report of Spandana Trust. The women self-help-groups members Jayanti Adyar and Gamini Nantoor compered the programme. Spandana Trust social worker Theerta proposed vote of thanks.
