Moodubelle, 07 September 2010: The State Director of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NRGS), Mr. N.S. Prasanna from Bangalore and the World Bank Team paid a visit to the Belle Grama Panchayat Office on Monday, 6th September 2010 at 10.30 am to demonstrate the successful implementation of the ‘Panchatantra’ software meant for computerizing all the grama panchayat documents and records of implementation of various government schemes at the village level, before implementation and after implementation, with photographs and documentation.
Belle Grama Panchayat has been designated as a ‘Model Panchayat’ in Udupi taluk along with Ambalpadi and Cherkadi grama panchayats with respect to the implementation of the computerisation in a near perfect manner. There are three model panchayats in the Kundapur taluka and two in Karkala taluk. Miss Jyothi Naik has been working as dedicated data entry operator since three years and has been quite efficient in her work. She has been training data entry operators from other neighbouring panchayats.
Mr. N.S. Prasanna was accompanied by the Chief Accounts Officer of Mangalore Zilla Panchayat-Mr. Ramdas and the Auditor of both Udupi and Mangalore District-Mr. Rajaratnam. Mr. N.S. Prasanna appreciated the wonderful work of computerization done by the Belle Grama Panchayat.
The President of Belle Grama Panchayat-Mrs. Jacintha Aranha welcomed Mr. N.S. Prasanna by presenting him flower bouquet. Mr. DevdasHebbar welcomed the officers. Mr. Gerald Fernandes, President of Social Justice Committee, Udupi Zilla Panchayat, Mr. Sivaram Salian, Member of the Belle Grama Panchayat and Secretary-Mr.Ramappa Hitthalmani were present during the occasion.
