Udupi, 01 Dec 2013: It’s difficult to live in harmony when we don’t make an attempt to know the meaning of religion of fellowmen. The peace will not reign in our midst, unless we learn best in each religion. When we travel in a train and if fellow passenger raises issue of religion, we get angry. It’s essential that one ought to be human wherever one would be. The abusing any religion is not fair, said veteran Kannada litterateur Dr Na D’Souza.
Dr D’Souza was the chief guest speaking during the seminar on Literature towards peace that was held at Town Hall, here on Saturday November 30 evening. It was organized by Mangalore-based Shanthi Prakashan as part of their silver jubilee celebrations.

Sanmarga bulletin editor Abdul Khader Kukkila said that Prophet Mohammed Paigambar has proven literature can work towards reforming the society through Holy Quran wherein the entire Arabia was converted to Islam. He has given dignity to women, said Abdul Khader.
Abdul Khader further said that it’s a major challenge to protect women than bomb explosion. The issues of fear among the women walking on the street, marital discord caused by drunkard husband should become topic of discussion, said Abdul Khader.
Shanthi Prakashan deputy chairman felicitated the district reception Committee chairman Tenkanidiyoor College Professor Dr Gananat Yekkar on the same occasion.
