Bangalore, Nov 25, 2013 : Konkani Catholic Sangh (KCS), Yeshwanthpur, Bangalore in its history of existence for the first time took a committed, brave and humanitarian step to build a new toilet block for the parishioners of Christ the King church, Malleshwaram, Bangalore. Initially, the yearning desire to have a new toilet and refreshing facility at the church premises by parishioners, parish Council members, inclusive of the church authorities seemed to have sown the seed for many years considering the pathetic condition at which, the present toilet’s facility is maintained at the church premises. It was the ‘brave hearts’ of members of KCS Committee and specially the president and secretary, who took a committed, generous and timely decision, to have a new toilet and refreshing facility at church premises, facing all odds, to realise this long cherished aspirations of every member of the church, which was blessed and handed over on the eve of annual feast of Christ the King church.
On Saturday November 23 at 8.30am the executive members of KCS gathered at the church premises along with parish priest Fr Arokiaraj Sateesh Kumar for the blessing and handing over the pnew toilet block, after the blessings, the parish priest thanked each and every member of the KCS executive member for their generous contribution as well the Konkani Catholic Community of the parish for this great humanitarian act which helps in bonding among the parish community members and development of the Parish and society at large.
The KCS executive Committee members at reviewing the project, which cost a approximate of Rs 4 lac, at a certain stage were apprehensive of this project, but when they realised the new toilet and refreshing facility being materialised at a short period, they believed that timely executing a ‘commitment’ and extending a ‘helping hand and generous mite’ for the cause of community and society can give immense joy for both generous ‘Giver’ and the ‘Receiver’.
Meanwhile, the president and members of executive Committee of KCS sincerely thanked all the members of KCS and well wishers who have generously donated for this cause. Since, this was the first Community Project taken by the KCS, in the history of its existence, the success and joy seemed to have percolated in each member to venture in future in similar acts. It was unanimous, that the Committee members of KCS should take many such humanitarian acts in future to give back to the society in a similar and most benefiting manner for the welfare of community, parish and society at large.
