The new office bearers of the South Kanara Photographers’ Association-Udupi Zone take office

Udupi, 01 September 2010: The new office bearers of the South Kanara Photographers’ Association(SKPA)-Udupi Zone took office on Tuesday, 31st August 2010 in a function organized at 3pm in Lions Bhavan, Brahmagiri, Udupi. The function was presided over by Shivarama Kadaba, Prsident of SKPA, Central Committee, Mangalore.

 

Following the prayer by Lakshminarayana Upadhyaya, Harish Shetty, former president of the SKPA-Udupi Zone welcomed the guests. The function was inaugurated by K. Raghupati Bhat, MLA of Udupi. Thereafter, the new office bearers were introduced to the audience, following which, the new office bearers took the oath of office. The new office bearers are: Raghava Padmashali-Honorary President, K. Shridhar Shettigar-President, Dhananjay Poojary-Secetary and Shripati S.K.-Treasurer.

 

During the function a number of persons were felicitated and honoured. These include: Krishnaprasad K. of Prasad Netralaya, Udupi, Kaup Suri Shetty-Social Worker from Kaup, Nagaraj Majoor, ETV Great Karnataka Dancing League Prashasthi Winner, Raghava Padmashali-Honorary President, SKPA, Udupi, Manjunatha Devadiga-SKPA, Udupi Founder Member and Wilson D’Souza, Phoenix Studio-Udupi and Shirva Winner of Digital Wedding Photo Competition organized by the All Karnataka Video and Photo Association.

 

Pramod Madhvaraj, President of the Udupi Block Congress Committee released the Directory of the members of SKPA-Udupi Zone. Four needy persons were given financial help of Rs. 20, 000/- each from the fund of SKPA-Udupi Zone. In his address, K. Raghupati Bhat said that through organizations any problem can be solved. He assured that the SKPA-Udupi Zone can be assigned land for their organization in rural areas.

 

 

Other than the above guests, the SKPA-Udupi Zone function was attended by other guests of honour including: Kiran Kumar-President of the Udupi Municipality, Karandadi Leeladhar Shetty-Social Worker, Kaup, K. Vasudaeva Rao-Vice President, SKPA, central Committee, Mangalore, Dr. Krishnaprasad K-Prasad Netralaya, Udupi, bannanje Babu Amin-Folk Culutre Scholar, Harish Shetty, Kemmannu-the outgoing President and Sukumar Kukkikatte-the outgoing Secretary.

 

The entertainment programme that was followed had filmi dances by Nagraj Majoor, winner of ETV Great Karnataka Dance League Prashasthi.
