Udupi: Students form Human Chain from Manipal to City to create Environmental awareness

Udupi, 11 Nov 2013 : At the joint auspices of the district scouts and guides, district regional transport Authority and Lions Club – Southern Star Udupi, human chain was formed from Syndicate Bank Circle, Manipal to Udupi city center, here on Monday November 11, to create mass awareness on air pollution.

 

 
 
Regional Transport Officer (RTO) G Arun Kumar offered the motion for forming the human chain by distributing paper bags to the participants on the occasion.

 
 
The district scouts and guides officers Shanta V S Acharya and Edwin pinto, Udupi zilla panchayat president Upendra Nayak, Lions Club – Southern Star Udupi office bearers Dr Vijendra and Sadhana Kini Manipal, Samrudda Special School chief Bhoomika Pahuja, U Damodar, Professor Dayanand Shetty, Radhakrishna, B Ravindra Nayak and others were present on the occasion.

 
 
Over 3,000 students from different schools participated in forming the human chain to bring home the message of environmental  pollution.
