Palli, 31 August 2010: Realising that waiting for local administration to do certain kind of public work would be a futile exercise, around 50 volunteers comprising of rickshaw and tempo owners and drivers joined together on Sunday, 29 August 2010 to clear the wild growth by the side of the Palli-Kalkar Road for a distance of around five kilometres.
The volunteers took up this task of clearing the side of the road in view of the coming Ganapthi festival. This is another example of community taking up local issues and trying to solve their own problems without waiting for the local administration to be responsive to the needs of the people.
