Kuwait, 7 Oct 2013: Jab Tak Hain Jaan, the much-hyped musical extravaganza by the Indian Cultural Society (ICS) was held at the American International School here on Friday October.
The glittering event saw ecstatic crowd who flocked the auditorium from 5.30 pm onwards to book the best seat to get clear undistracted view of the performing bollywood celebrities.
Vinod Kumar, diplomat from the Indian Embassy graced the occasion in the absence of Ambassador of India to Kuwait was busy on another assignment.
The much-awaited entertainment started with a rousing applause from the crowd when bollywood comedian Raju Srivastava took the centre stage mike. He really cracked all the bones in the body with his laughter pills while taking pot-shots on the crowd who distracted his performance. The audience laughter could be heard outside the auditorium and it looked like the ceiling would blow off. Raju is indeed a genius in stand-up comedy and he proved it to the Kuwait Crowd with his humor and witty jokes. He did not hesitate to take a dig on the President of ICS Ashfaque Khan and Pascal Pinto when they were around him or passing by from the centre stage.
Manisha rendered some Hindi bollywood songs and Javed Ali was awesome. He performed superbly and was flawless in his singing. His Sufi singing is great in fact a voice such as his is god gifted. The crowd thoroughly enjoyed his songs and was even surprised that he could sing like the stalwarts of the hindi music industry. His rendering of melody songs is praiseworthily mind blowing and cannot be questioned. The sweetness in his voice is commendable, truly his next Music icon of the modern generation from the Music prodigy AR Rahman.
During the event, social worker, Mangalorean community leader, Gulf NRI Forum - Kuwait president Pascal B Pinto was felicitated by Vinod Kumar for his tremendous contribution to ICS and service to humanity. Pinto always works towards the upliftment of the destitute and less fortunate people here in Kuwait and Mangalore his home town. He stands tall in fighting for the cause of poor laborers and ill-treated Indian. Pinto is a well known figure in Kuwait and India and commands respect in the political circle in his home state of Karnataka. He moves among the Business and political class and garners support and assistance for his cause. He fought tirelessly to start direct flights to Mangalore from Kuwait and today, Air India express is flying to Mangalore airport from Kuwait. He also stood firm to get International Status for Mangalore Airport which was recently fulfilled. Pinto is associated with numerous organizations and diverting his services and energy for other purposes also.
ICS president and anchor Ashfaque Khan was also presented with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of ICS and the awe audience by his daughter Safa Khan for organizing such lovely events.
The curtains came down on the event with Javed Ali performance at midnight.
