Mangalore, 03 Oct 2013: Konkani Natak Sabha® Mangalore celebrated its 70th anniversary on Sunday September 23 at Don Bosco Hall here.
Roy Castelino, President of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan was the chief guest of the celebration. For the contribution to the Konkani art John A Pereira of Bejai was felicitated. Acknowledging the honour, John A Pereira thanked the sabha for selecting him for the honor and also said that youngsters should come forward to build Konkani art, literature and culture.
On behalf of Konkani Natak Sabha ‘Konkani Kutam Bahrain’ Award winner Dolla Mangalore was also falicitated.
Addressing the gathering the chief guest Roy Castelino said that “We must mix with the Konkani speaking people and built our relationship with them, thereby improve our Konkani language, culture and literature. He requested the executive committee of Konkani Natak sabha to take steps from now onwards to organize konkani competitions among all Konkani speaking people and achieve the goal at the time of its 75th annual day celebration.”
Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza, president welcomed, Sunil Menezes, general secretary presented a annual report, Dolphy Saldanha Vice president introduced the chief guest and Prem Lobo proposed vote of thanks. CGS, Tacode compered the programme.
‘Otre Uzwadle‘, a Konkani social comedy drama, written by Pradeep Barboza, Paladka, directed by Dolla Mangalore, co-directed by Claud D’Souza, music by Nellu Permannur was staged by popular actors from Mangalore.
