M’lore: Samaritans Work Thro’ Night in Filling Pot-holes on Old Pumpwell & Bypass Road, Kankan

Mangalore, 27 Sep 2013: A group of youth concerned with road safety led by city-based M/s Silva Earthmovers proprietor Alwyn D’Silva worked through the night on Thursday September 26 till wee hours of Friday September 27, in filling up the innumerable pot-holes on Old Pumpwell Road – Kankanady and Pumpwell Bypass Road.

The youth- Ashok D’Silva, Roshan Lobo, Rayan, Sharon Pais, Mark Pais, Arthur, Arun D’Almeida, Johny D’Souza, Wilson D’Cunha, Jackson D’Cunha, Wilson, Joel, Arvin, Sandesh Mascarenhas and Ashok D’Silva labored throughout the night in restoring the road to smooth traffic till municipal authorities begin repairs after monsoon recedes. 

 

Both the stretch of the road was in deplored condition and a nightmare to motorists especially during the night.  The road mishaps were common owing to sudden braking to avoid potholes.  The two-wheeler riders were the worst hit with broken limbs and other motorists complained of backache.
