Mangalore, 11 Sep 2013: The longevity of an individual is assured if one follows the daily routine as specified in Ayurveda with regard to moderate food and relaxation methods, said district department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) officer Dr Sadashivananda.
Dr Sadashivananda was speaking during AYUSH home remedy programme that was organized by Government Ayurveda Clinic, in Kollur village that comes at the limits of Balkunje, near here.
The taluk panchayat member Nelson Lobo after inaugurating the programme explained the benefits of home remedy for different ailments that he had experienced in his life. He also commended the efforts of AYUSH in organizing such programmes for the benefit of rural masses.
Alvas Ayurveda Medical College Dr Chandrakant Joshi and Dr Asha were the resource persons offered information on home remedies for health issues of women.
The women members of Stree Shakthi self-help-groups and villagers were benefited out of the programme.
Balkunje gram panchayat member Wilson Rodrigues was also present on the occasion.
AYUSH medical officer Dr Muralidar welcomed the gathering. Michael Rodrigues proposed vote of thanks. Yellappa Salian compered the programme.
