Mangalore, 02 Sep, 2013 : Father Muller Medical College Hospital, in association with the city based Civil Contractors Association, Lions Club - Urwa Stores and KMC Hospital, organized one-day health camp Shree Sharada Vidya Peeta, Urwa Stores, here on Sunday September 1. The health camp was organized with the objective of providing free medical care to the marginalized sections of society.
Civil Contractors Association president Purushotham Kottari was the chief guest of the occasion.
Shree Sharada Pooja Committee president Guruprasad, Lions Club – Urwa Stores president L C Colaco, Lions regional president Francis Ronald Colaco, Lions district governor K C Prabhu, KMC Dr Vishnu Priya, Father Muller Medical College Dr Perer George was the dignitaries present on the occasion.
The dignitaries jointly inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Purushottam Kottari said, ‘Free health checkup and blood donation are two good initiatives. When health care has been very expensive poor people take this opportunity to undergo health checkup which will help in having healthier society,’ said Purushottam. He also appreciated the blood donors and also said if blood is donated with a gap of 3 months it is a healthy habit and there is no ill effect on the body.
The health camp was divided into medicine, OBG, orthopedics, dermatology, ENT and ophthalmology departments where the volunteer doctors from Father Muller Medical College Hospital gave initial health care to the patients.
The patients who required higher care were referred to Father Muller College Hospital and will be treated in the concessional rates.
Good number of people participated in the camp.
