Mangalore, 26 Aug 2013: The state administration in order to avail monthly pensions to orphaned and poor under social security programme, instructed sub division officers, in order to organize pension Adalat in their jurisdictions, said state forests, environment and Dakshina Kannada (DK) district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
The minister Ramanath was speaking after releasing a book ‘100 days hundreds of decisions’ that reflects the achievement of Karnataka state administration in 100 days of reigning, during a function held at Deputy Commissioner’s office, here on Monday August 26.
The minister Ramanath further said that under Annabhagya programme that was introduced by the state administration, 1.79 lac BPL cardholders and 21,079 APL cardholders are availing 30 kilograms of rice at Re 1 per kilogram from 511 ration shops, said minister Ramanat. In the past 100 days, Ksheerabhagya, free milk to students, loans that are advanced to SC/OBC and minority are waived, reconnections of electricity effected to Bhagyajyoti beneficiaries whose supply was sapped owing to failure to pay energy bills, Agriculture Commission formed to fix fair price to farm produce, hiked the recurring funds from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 of self-help-groups, hiked the housing funds from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.20 lac to the poor. To sum up, the state administration has fulfilled 60 assurances out of a total of 160 in 100 days in office, said minister Ramanath.
He further said that the state government for the first time introduced monthly pension of Rs 500 to cross genders which was earlier only granted to divorced women of over 40 years and widows, said minister Ramanath.
Deputy Commissioner N Prakash, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dayanand K A, municipal commissioner Ajit Kumar Hegde were present at the occasion.
