MANGALORE, 11 August 2010: Come September 1, international passengers from Bajpe airport will have to shell out an additional Rs 825 as user development fee (UDF). The UDF for domestic passengers will be Rs 150.
The UDF was approved by the ministry of civil aviation on May 15 this year and will be in force for 10 years from the date of implementation. The UDF is inclusive of all taxes.
The exempted category includes infants, Airport Authority of India personnel on official duty, armed forces personnel and diplomats.
With this Bajpe has joined the league of Greenfield airport which charge UDF to recover infrastructure development costs. The new terminal building which was opened on August 2 has come up with a cost of Rs 158 crore.
