M’lore, 16 Aug 2013: The 67th Independence Day was celebrated at Nisarga Play School, Mangalore, with great gaiety. The tiny tots of Pre-KG, LKG and UKG celebrated the day as ONE cheerfully, happily and peacefully. The school was beautifully decorated and the kids were dressed in school uniform and presented performances which showcased remarkable learning that they had acquired at their preschool.
This was a remarkable initiative by Nisarga Play School to strengthen social awareness and instill the feeling of patriotism in the toddlers.
The celebration started with unfurling the National Flag by Mr. Godfrey DSouza, President Lions Club Bejai. The Correspondent Mr. Victor D’souza escorted the guests to the dais. While Nidhi Rao of UKG welcomed the gathering along with Teacher Babitha, Ethan Pinto of UKG delivered the Independence day message.
The toddlers thanked the Almighty to shower His blessings on the school and its family.
The Guest, Mrs. Constance Saldanha, Zone Chairperson, Region 2, Lions Club addressed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion she recalled the memories of the Independence Day celebration. She encouraged the students to work hard and become worthy and responsible citizens of the country.
The function came to an end with a vote of thanks by Poorvi Thanthri of UKG and were distributed to everyone at the event.
Mrs. Patsy Dsouza Headmistress of the school co-ordinated the entire programme.
