Mumbai: Harshal Karle of St Augustine’s, Nerul wins the Rs. 23.50 Lac, 1 yr Ryan Esprit Soccer Schol

Mumbai, 15 Aug 2013: Ryan International Group of Institutions, one of India’s largest Education providers with over 120 institutes in India and abroad, announced a Rs. 23,50,000 (UK Pounds 25,000) one year Scholarship in UK for Harshal Karle.

 

Harshal, a striker started playing soccer at the age of 8 years and his passion led him to join St. Augustine School, Nerul. Since then he has garnered many laurels.  Of course, its not all soccer with Harshal, in academics also he has consistently scored over 75 percent marks.  Ryan International is the first school in the country to offer a soccer scholarship of this kind. It is a part of their Sports Initiative to help deserving students.

 

During his stay in UK, Harshal will be hosted by Brookhouse Academy. He will be guided by Anish Khinda, chairman of Sports Esprit Academy. In addition to being coached by select EPL coaches, he will also attend school. A detailed schedule will be created to help Harshal learn advanced football techniques and help hone his skills.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion at Ryan Global School, Mumbai and Ryan International Group of Institutions CEO Ryan Pinto, said, ‘It gives me great pleasure to award this scholarship. Sports carry equal weight-age to academics at Ryan as we endeavor to develop the entire persona of our students. Soccer is close to my heart and I desire to do all that is possible by us to help deserving students learn from the best in the world and EPL is there right at the top. I am sure Harshal will shine in the future.’

 

Sports Esprit Academy chairman Anish Khinda, said, ‘Our dream of helping students in India experience the best in soccer has come closer to realization. Am sure Harshal will benefit greatly.’

 

Harshal Karle said, ‘It is like a dream. I always watched EPL matches and follow them. Now for one yr I will be there learning from the coaches, Wow.’  Asked how he prepared for the selection camp, Harshal said: ‘I used to watch videos of Brook-house on YouTube and learnt how they work.’ He said he also picks up the nuances of the game by watching Gareth Bale’s and Cristiano Ronaldo’s videos. ‘I am a big fan of them, he added.

 

Harshal Karle, will be trained by EPL coaches and be hosted by Brookhouse Academy, UK, all boarding, lodging, coaching fee and academics will be taken care off.  The first Ryan Esprit Soccer Camp attracted over 1,000 players.
