Udupi, 27 Jul 2013: The retired lecturer P Dayanand Kamath inaugurated Yakshagana class at Church Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubelle, near here that is at the threshold of centinary celebrations, here, on Saturday July 27.
Speaking on the occasion, Dayanand Kamath said that Yakshagana is the heroic art of coastal district, which is a replica of distinct culture. The Yakshagana classes indeed improve self expressive means, said Kamath.
St Lawrence education institutions correspondent Fr Joswy Fernandes in his presidential address said that study is not mere limited to syllabus; it’s a process of learning literature and arts also. The Yakshagana classes indeed helpful in realizing the set objectives, said Fr Joswy.
The Yakshagana teachers K J Krishna, Satish Upadhyaya, organizers Vittal Nayak, the Moodubelle parish council secretary Jacintha D’Souza, St Lawrence College principal Sarita D’Souza were present at the dais.
The school headmaster Sylvester Mathias welcomed the gathering. Sister Irene proposed vote of thanks. Narasimha Nayak compered the programme.
