Beltangady: Family Feud, Husband Jumps into River, Wife attempts Suicide by Consuming Disinfectant

Beltangady, 25 Jul 2013: The domestic violence in a household family residing at Gurmedagundi, that comes under the limits of Navoor gram panchayat, near here resulted in husband committing suicide by jumping into a tributary of Netravati River on Wednesday July 24 afternoon,  while his wife earlier consumed disinfectant and admitted in a hospital at Mangalore.

 

The dead body of sixty-five-year-old husband (name withheld) is yet to be recovered as water flow in the tributary has been rising, owing to torrential rains at the foothills of Western Ghats, besides excess water released from the nearby dam of a MNC. 
Meanwhile, nearly fifty-six-year-old wife (name withheld) who has consumed disinfectant is recovering in Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Kankanady, Mangalore.

The hospital sources informed that she would be fully alright in 2 days, as she is well responding to the treatment. 
Bantwal rural police registered a case in this regard.
