Udupi: World Environment Day Celebrated with Mega Rally at Palimar

Udupi, 6 Jun 2013: At the aegis of Bharat Nirman and Palimar gram panchayat, World Environment Day was celebrated here on Wednesday June 5.

The students of Palimar Government High School, the local people’s representatives, volunteers of Bharat Nirman and general public joined in a mega rally across Palimar to create awareness on eco-environment at the occasion.

 

 

The saplings were planted and plants were distributed during the stage programme held at Palimar Government higher Primary School.

Addressing the gathering, Padubidri sub-inspector Mahadev Shetty said that it’s the duty of everyone to sustain environment that is threatened by mega industries in the recent past across the district.

Palimar gram panchayat president Malati Divakar presided the programme.

TP member Amita Poojary, former president Navinchandra Suvarna, vice president Giriyappa Poojary, former vice president Jitendra Furtado, Government Composite Pre-University College principal Anbaras, high school head teacher Asha, higher primary school headmaster Narayan, Satish, Jayaram Shetty, Gopal Poojary, Palimar gram panchayat PDO Vilasini, Bharat Nirman co-ordinator Jayanti, volunteers Gayatri Prabhu, Dinesh Kotian, Asha, Palimar Yashavant Poojary, trainer Sudhakar and others were present at the occasion.
