Udupi, 6 Jun 2013: At the aegis of Bharat Nirman and Palimar gram panchayat, World Environment Day was celebrated here on Wednesday June 5.
The students of Palimar Government High School, the local people’s representatives, volunteers of Bharat Nirman and general public joined in a mega rally across Palimar to create awareness on eco-environment at the occasion.
The saplings were planted and plants were distributed during the stage programme held at Palimar Government higher Primary School.
Addressing the gathering, Padubidri sub-inspector Mahadev Shetty said that it’s the duty of everyone to sustain environment that is threatened by mega industries in the recent past across the district.
Palimar gram panchayat president Malati Divakar presided the programme.
