Mangalore, 27 May 2013: RACHANA, Forum of Catholic businessmen, professionals and entrepreneurs organized felicitation programme for the Mangalore south newly-elected MLA J R Lobo at Pio Mall roof-top hall, Bejai, here on Sunday May 26 night. MLA Lobo is also a member in RACHANA governing council.
The torrential rains that showered at the time did not deter the spirit of people gathered at the occasion. RACHANA governing council member Captain John Prasad Menezes read the felicitation address. MLA J R Lobo, his wife Philomena Lobo, RACHANA president Roy Castelino, secretary John Monteiro, treasurer Rudolph Rodrigues were present at the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, Lobo asserted that he was destined by the Lord to be an elected MLA, because he was miraculously driven to plunge in politics although he had no inclination in his life. He had a gut feeling that he will get party ticket to contest the assembly elections and also win. He thanked all the voters in his home constituency for trusting in him and for their overwhelming support in electing him. He said his duty has increased manifold now to serve all regardless of caste, creed and faith. He narrated how deep the concern of people for a stable government which could uphold secularism that was dented by the former regime, said Lobo.
MLA Lobo assured of restoring the image of vibrant city that has infrastructure to become number 2 in Karnataka after the state capital. His focus during his tenure will be to develop the city as a hub of IT, industries, education and tourism. He also sought the support of all and prayers in discharging his duties to the best of his abilities without scope for misgivings.
