Hassan, 8 May 2013: JDS won many seats in the assembly elections that was anticipated with utmost curiosity.
The poll count begun here on Wednesday May 8 at 8.00am and results were announced by 1.45pm. The voters and candidates were eagerly waiting for results on each round. The supporters of candidates who won the elections were celebrating the victory by bursting firecrackers and throwing colors far away from the poll counting center.
JDS candidate H S Prakash won defeating Congress candidate H K Mahesh by a margin of 4,196 votes.
JDS candidate H D Revanna won defeating Congress candidate Anupama S G with a margin of 30,058 votes.
Congress candidate A Manju won defeating JDS candidate A R Ramaswamy with a margin of 8,794 votes.
Congress candidate Y N Rudresh Gowda won defeating JDS candidate K S Lingesh with a margin of 7,529 votes.
JDS candidate Kumaraswamy won defeating Congress candidate D Mallesh with a margin of 33,069 votes.
JDS candidate K M Shivalinge Gowda won defeating Congress candidate B Shivaram with a margin of 29,631 votes.
JDS candidate C N Balakrishna won defeating Congress candidate C S Putte Gowda with a margin of 24,142 votes.
The poll results of 2008 are repeated this time too.
The elections were held peacefully with heavy security.
