Mangalore, 8 May 2013: Congress veteran and former union minister B Janardhan Poojary thanked the voters across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts in electing majority of Congress candidates, during a press meet held at Congress election publicity office, Kadri, here on Wednesday May 8 afternoon.
Poojary on behalf of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi congratulated the elected Congress candidates J R Lobo, U T Khader, Mohideen Bava, Pramod Madwaraj and others.
‘U T Khader was reelected for the third time, that is due to the legacy left behind by his father late MLA U T Fareed,’ said Poojary. Sullia constituency that faced setback for Congress candidate Dr Raghu, added Poojary.
It’s the clear message which the voters have given to the political parties in the assembly elections that whoever reigns in the state administration; corrupt rule cannot be tolerated and is likely to vote against. It will also apply to Congress because voters have the choice in a democratic country. Corruption-free governance can assure brighter chances to regain state rule, emphasized Poojary.
He further said that the charisma of Gujarat CM Narendra Modi has not worked in Mangalore despite his address during election campaign. The hardcore Hindutva has no place in a secular country, stressed Poojary.
