Mangalore,18 Apr 2013: Nagarika Seva Sangh Trust ®, Shakti Nagar, here staged Tulu drama – Yan Pandendh Panodchi (Don’t say that I have told) at the open grounds located in front of K V S Cashew factory, here on Wednesday April 17 night. It was organized by the Trust to celebrate their eleventh anniversary.
Devdas Kapikad is the playwright of Yan Pandendh Panodchi – Tulu play and was directed by him. The famous drama troupe – Cha Parka that is promoted by Devdas Kapikad staged the play, an annual event indeed, to the thunderous applauses of a large number of audiences.
The former local corporator Mariamma Thomas was the chief guest of stage programme held before the drama.
Speaking on the occasion, Mariamma said that this year the dance shows by talented children are missing. She also commended the Trust for successively organizing the annual event despite the theater is losing sheen in the advent of visual media, internet and communication. The traditional means of entertainment for common folks are essential for the sustenance of theater, said Mariamma.
The office bearers and members of Trust were present at the dais.The local students topper in SSLC and accomplished Bharatanatyam child prodigy wee felicitated during the programme.
The play was successful to bring home the message of how western culture deep-rooted among the new generation of coastal district slowly degenerate family values with elders viewing as mute spectators.
