Mangalore, 28 Mar 2013: All India Billawar Union is the only organization that represents the entire Billawa community, whilst an individual who has self-proclaimed as its president, supported by his family and a handful of his friends, since the past many years has been at its helm. The democratic norms of the Union, is being disregarded to convene meetings owing to his up handedness, said Billava Organizations Unifying Committee chief secretary Ravishankar Mijar.
Addressing the media persons at Hotel Janata Deluxe auditorium, M G Road, here on Thursday March 28 afternoon, Ravishankar said that despite the age-old-practice to convene the meeting of the Union at Gokarnanata temple premises, Kudroli on the following day of Shivaratri at 11.00am; the meeting is being convened at Narayan Guru College premises during class hours without no bonafide members, added Ravishankar.
The self-proclaimed president Naveenchandra had assured the members, when the former agreed of his mistake in not adhering to the norms of Union, while convening the meetings during February 2012. Naveenchandra had assured that such gross mistake will not happen in the recently held meeting on March 11. It’s significant that Naveenchandra has behaved unjustly during the meeting, by snatching the mike and issuing press statement for the effect of expelling the members on false accusations, emphasized Ravishankar.
Billawa Organizations Unifying Committee strongly opposes the highhandedness of Naveenchandra who has not given any significance to the preaching of Narayana Guru and cautioned that the community will not pardon for causing the rift within Billawar organizations, cautioned Billawar Organizations Unifying Committee.
Billawa Organizations Unifying Committee president M Sitaram, vice presidents Chandresh and B P Dinakar, Sudhakr Amin, Sureschandra Kotian, K Eshwar Salian, Dinesh Anchan and others were present at the press meet.
