Kundapur, 19 Mar 2013: At the backdrop of confusions cropped up related to segregating villages owing to state announcement of separate Byndoor taluk that formed part of Kundapur taluk, Chitte Rajagopal Hegde, convener of Shankaranarayana Taluk Rachana Horata Samiti through a media release advised to divide the villages into 3 taluks; Kundapur, Byndoor and Shankaranarayan that should be given the status by the records at the sub-registrar’s office.
The state administration announced the status of taluk to Byndoor in the recent budget.
Chitte Rajagopal Hegde in a media release dated March 16 stated that there existed sub-registrar’s offices at Karkal, Udupi, Kundapur, Brahmavar, Byndoor and Shankaranarayan during British rule in India. The towns that had sub-registrar’s office in Udupi district have become taluk centers except Shankaranarayan. If state government announces the status of taluk to Shankaranarayana, 101 villages in Kundapur taluk will have a taluk center nearby, as stated in media release.
