Moodubelle, 10 Mar 2013: The worship prayer meet held every Sunday at prayer hall Word of Victory ministry went on as usual without any disturbances amidst tight police security on Sunday.
Roshan Lobo, the pastor of Word of Victory ministry, told that there was no any sort of interruptions and disturbances. He said police have arranged for security. Devotees came in large number and they were not scared of attending the prayer meet following Friday night’s incident. He said that his mother Emili Lobo has been discharged from hospital after undergoing the treatment.
The other people who were assaulted are all back at home except for one Ramesh who was admitted to KMC Manipal. He was thrashed by the activists severely following which he had suffered a head injury. However, he has been now shifted to ward from ICU.
Meanwhile, all the 19 Bajarang Dal activists who were released on interim bail claimed that they had earlier complained to the police over the inclusion of people belonging to Hindu communities in the prayer meetings. Despite all their attempts, police have not taken any action, they alleged.
On the other hand, criticisms and condemnation against the attack has come from all walks of life. The CITU District Secretary Balakrishna Shetty termed the attack as the most heinous crime. He said such incidents have become a usual phenomenon in coastal districts.
In a press release issued by the organization, he alleged that the so called Hindu organizations are into creating communal disharmony as part of their vote bank gimmicks. In the process, they are attacking the religious sentiments of minorities. He demanded that immediate action should be taken against those people who are involved. Police should look into the possibilities of reoccurrences of such crimes and take measures to prevent it.
