Kundapur,27 Feb 2013: The great Indian cultural extravaganza was exemplified during Alvas Nudisiri that was held at Canara College of Nursing campus, Koteshwar, near here on Sunday February 24 evening. It was jointly organized by Alvas Education Foundation, Moodbidri and Alvas Nudisiri – Kundapur unit.
The unity in diversity of our country was exemplified in Banjara dance of Andhra Pradesh, lion dance of West Bengal, Dhol – folk dance of Manipur, Yakshagana play of Karnataka, Oppanam of Kerala, Lavani dance of Maharastra, Bharatanatyam, Katak, Mohiniyattam etc – all staged in a single stage.
The thousands of viewers were enthralled by the show of one-act play of poet Bhasa, Dashavatara – Yakshagana play of Badagutittu style, regional dances of different states across the country.
Alvas Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva, Alvas Nudisiri Kundapur unit honorary president B Appanna Hegde, president Dr Umesh Putran, Canara College of Nursing chairman Uday Kumar Shetty, senior journalist U S Shenoy and others were present at the dais.
The teacher Chandrashekar Beejady welcomed the gathering. Alvas Nudisiri Kundapur unit secretary Subramanya Shetty proposed vote of thanks. The treasurer Vishwanat Karaba compered the programme.
