Udupi, 20 Feb 2013: The up-coming TV movie director Prakash Suvarna, a native of Katpady, near here and a journalist by profession will produce a Tulu tele-film – Lacchi, by Disha Communications.
Lacchi, is a fifth tele-film that will be produced by Disha Communications, UNICEF Prasar Bharati award recipient. Lacchi is themed on women violence and consequences of alcohol addiction on families.
Hallimane, Guddadamane, Akku and Bhagya are Kannada tele-films that are produced by Disha Communications, which has won many national awards.
Guddadamane, a documentary on naxals has been delivered to state government. Akku movie based on child labour has bagged UNICEF Prasar Bharati award. Bhagya, Tulu movie based on the plight of coastal fisherwoman was much appreciated by Dr Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala.
Lacchi, movie is an attempt to create mass awareness on women violence and devastated effects on the alcohol-addict’s-families. The movie will have 4 Tulu songs and the shooting will be held in picturesque locations across the coastal district. The production cost will be around Rs 5 lac.
The production team of Prakash Suvarna seeks support from donors in realizing the project at the earliest.
