Dubai, 08 Feb 2012: The Vodlem Fest 2013 a traditional festival by prominent Shirva Parishioners UWAS was a super hit program enthralled the large friends and parishioner of Shirva residing in U.A.E.
The whole day entertainment program began with a prayer by Committee members of USWAS. Roshan Menezes emcee of the day welcomed the audience and invited the Chief Guest of the day Rev. Fr. Antony Serrao, and other dignitaries to the dais and they were felicitated with floral bouquets by USWAS president Nelson Castelino. In his presidential address he thanked Rev. Fr. Antory Serrao for his presence to the Voldem Fest and welcomed the audience and all the sponsors.
In response Rev. Fr. Antony Serrao though he is serving outside Shirva Parish but still has attachment to Shirva and lauded Shirva parishioners of U.A.E. for their many noble and charitable causes. Fr. Stany Tauro, Parish Priest of Shirva Parish had invited him for Shirva Parish Fest just concluded this week but he could not attend. However, he is happy to attend the same Vodlem Fest here in Dubai celebrated in same spirit and zeal.
The whole day entertainment program enthralled the audience through out the day. There were loads of fun, games, skits, songs and dances which mesmerized the crowd. All the sponsors and media personnel were felicitated by presentation of mementos.
The all time Konkani super hit songs were sung by Joshal D’Souza, Nisha Lobo, Sandeep, Prashant gave a total entertainment. Some of the wonderful songs rendered by them were; Sooriyachin Kirna, Kalzant Ullas Borla, Piso and Sapnant Dosthai. Most of the songs were sung by Nisha Lobo and Joshal D’Souza and provided total entertainment. Sheldon Fernandes, a child singer (winner of Pearl Voice Juniour 2011) sang Nenti Balla and Poise Poise Manglura beautifully.
Boskeambeghar (Manoj, Denis, Claudy, Sharon, Canute, Lavi Oscar) this year too provided rib tickling comedy skits and one the highlight of their performance was in Mono Dance wherein they acted for many Konkani, Hindi and Kannada songs and had the audience applauded for their amazing performance including dance for Om Shanit oh, a super hit Hindi numbher.
Prashant Sequira, composer of recently released Tunch Moga sang some of the songs such as Sasnik Mog from his album and also sang duet songs with Joshal and Nisha.
The amazing dances were presented by Cleon (Micheal Jackson), Marsha and Clerisa, Karen and Group, Annie – Vannie Group mesmerized the crowd in between the songs. Interesting spot games were conducted by MC Roshan Menezes through out the day and gave away the prizes to the winners.
All the artists, dancers, singers were felicitated with mementos. The three special persons were honoured during the program, namely Sheldon Fernandes (Pearl Voice Junior Winner), Joshal D’Souza (Singer for her contribution for singing in various CDs) and Nisha D’Souza (Gulf Voice Mangalore).
The lucky dip on raffle tickets was drawn and the prizes to the winners was given away and the concluding item of the day was Baila dance wherein all young and old joined in dance to the tunes of all time hit Konkani songs.
The entire event was successfully conducted by Roshan Menezes of USWAS Shirva.
