Kannada Koota UAE Celebrates Makara Sankranti with Celebrities from Kannada Filmdom

Dubai, 22 Jan 2013: Kannada Koota UAE organized Makara Sankranti, the traditional religious celebrations, here on Friday January 18.  It was held at the leadership of Koota president Sadandas and member Veerendra Babu.

The members of Koota celebrated the traditional festival of Sankranti on Friday morning, with entertainment programmes for children, men and women.  The festival celebrations concluded with sumptuous food.

 

 

Kannada Chamber of Film Industry former presidents Sa Ra Govindu and K V Chandrashekar, movie producer Venkatesh, Krishnappa, entrepreneur Giriyappa and others were present for the celebrations.

The puppet artiste Shailaja enthralled the audience by one-act play on a episode of Dr Rajkumar’s movie.

The dignitaries from Kannada filmdom assured the organizers that they will try to organize a few programmes in UAE with the financial assistance of Karnataka Chamber of Film Industry.

It was the first programme organized by Kannada Koota in the New Year attended by large number of Indian expatriates.
