Our lady of Rosary Church, Kundapur -Celebration of Divine Word

Kundapura, 30 Nov 2012: “Vesperse” in preparation for the annual Parish Feast of Kundapura Our Lady of Rosaries Church was held on 27th November 2012 evening with great devotion. The church was decorated with flowers and colourful lights for the occasion.
The celebration started at 6 PM with the Holy Rosary followed by a grand procession on the road surrounding the church by numerous devotees, altar servers, religious sisters and guest priests with singing of hymns and lighted candles. The beautifully decorated “Palanquin” with the statue of Mother Mary was taken in procession by the acolytes and volunteers holding coloured umbrellas enhanced the solemnity and grandeur of the occasion.

 

 

After the procession entered the spacious church, Rev. Fr Sunil D’Silva, parish priest of Petre church, presided over the Bible Service. The church choir read out the bible readings and also sang the hymns. The celebrant after proclaiming the Word of God also delivered the homily. This was followed by concelebrated Holy Mass by V. Rev. Fr Stany B. Lobo, parish priest of Our Lady of Miracles church, Kallianpura and by V. Rev. Fr Anil D’Souza parish priest of the host parish. The prayer service was attended by Rev. Fr Pravin Martis, Principal and assistant parish priest and many other guest priests.

 

Parish Pastoral Council vice-president Mr Michael Braganza thanked the gathering and Mr Antony D’Souza was the master of ceremony. The prayer service ended with colourful fireworks.
