Udupi, 14 June 2010: According to a FIR registered with the police in Udupi by U Nagaraj, Manager of the State Bank of India (SBI), 76, Badagubettu Village, Udupi Taluk, somewhere between 8pm on Saturday, 12 June and 8 am on Sunday, 13 June 2010, some unknown persons had robbed the ATM Machine along with Rs.14.51 from the SBI-NRI Branch at Kinnimulki.
The ATM was inaugurated in the Kinnimulki SBI-NRI branch. The robbers took the advantage of the fact that the ATM Machine was not yet fixed firm to the ground and the CCTV was not activated as the cables were not yet provided. Besides, the week-end and heavy rains facilitated the robbing of the machine along with Rs.14,51,200/-

The branch was opened in the ground floor ofthe Vishwas Landmark Building on 4 June 2010. However, within ten days of its opening, the robbers struck and carried away the unsecured ATM Machine with the cash inside it weighing nearly 600 kgs. Investigation by the police is being carried out to apprehend the robbers.
