Haleyangadi, 29 Nov 2012: Under the theme ‘Healthy Youth for Healthy India’ 100 students of our college took part in the special camp at Sri. Ramashrama Pre-University College, Konchady, Mangalore.
The camp was held from 22nd November 2012 till 28th November 2012. On the valedictory ceremony of the NSS Annual Special Camp Prof. Sathyanarayana Bhat, Principal of Government First Grade College Siddakatte delivered the valedictory address. In his address he said that the NSS provides training in leadership and service opportunities to the members. It effectively channels the energy and interest of the students into areas of social, cultural and community development.
Mr. Shankar Bhat, Cooperator and Ex-Mayor, Mangalore City Corporation, Mr. Subhashchandra Kanvathirtha, Principal, Sri. Ramashrama Pre-University College, Mr. V.G.S.N. Bhat, Headmaster, Sri. Ramashrama High School, Smt. Susheela, Headmistress, Sri. Ramashrama Higher Primary School were present during valedictory function.
Prof. Vishwanatha Bhat, Principal, Government First Grade College, Haleyangadi presided over the function. Mrs. Malathy K welcomed the gathering. NSS Volunteers shared their experiences of the camp in the valedictory function. Ms. Sushmitha, a camper read the camp report. Mr. Santhosh Pinto, NSS Programme Officer proposed the vote of thanks.
In this special camp various activities like Visit to Infant Jesus Orphange and Interaction with the orphans, Plastic Awareness Programme, Distribution of Poly Cloth Bags, Cleanliness drive, Personality development, Team Building & Team Work, Leadership and Life Skills, Management games, various talks and activities were conducted.Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions. Faculty members Mr. Sheenappa, Mr. Raghuraj, Dr. Mahesh Kumar and Ms. Suneetha Naik witnessed the programme. All the dignitaries appreciated the activities done and congratulated the team for a successful camp.
