Abu Dhabi, 16 Nov 2012: Bunts Dubai beat both Ladies and Mix teams to lift most coveted KCO throwball tourney trophies beating Karnataka Sangha straight sets in both finals in closely contested matches.
Bunts Dubai managed to beat Mangalore Konkans (Ladies) and Konkans Dubai in semi finals and while Karnataka Sangha beat Kanarites and Mangalore Konkans to reach the finals in most exiting matches held here on Friday at the Abu Dhabi Indian School ground.
The matches began at 8.00am in presence of sponsors of the tournament namely Ronald Pinto (Hysna), Sudhir Kumar Shetty (UAE Exchange), Richard Castelino (NTCC), Richard Mendonsa (Qaulity Fabricators), Leo Rodriges (Clevy and Mazroui Automobiles) and Sarvotham Shetty (President Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi) and KCO president Benet D’Mello.
Michael D’Silva, Former President KCO welcomed all the teams and wished them good luck. The Main sponsor Ronald Pinto wished all success to all teams and advised them to play in good homely spirit and at the end of the day go home in the spirt of game and whether you win or lose do not worry, it is the willingness and spirit of the game that matters the most.
Vivek (KCO) organizer laid out the rules and put the lots and Ronald Pinto and Lavina Rodrigues (Texas Rent a car) tossed the first ball for matches to begin.
All the games were conducted in a most friendly atmosphere and the teams participated in the tournament were: KCO, ADKS, Bunts Dubai, Mogaveers, Kanarites, Pacific Stars, Konkans dubai, sharjah stars,Mangalore konkand, ADIHS, St. Josephs AD (Ladies matches) and KCO, ADKS, Bunts Dubai, Mogaveers, Kanarites, Pacific Stars, Konkans dubai, sharjah stars,Mangalore Konkans (Mixed Teams).
The finals were very very closely contested and Bunts Dubai narrowly managed to win both finals beating Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi.
In the closing ceremony and Prize Distribution Sudhir Kumar Shetty (COO Global UAE Exchange) spoke and congratulated Bunts Dubai and wished other teams good luck. He also commended KCO for organizing the high level throwball tournament and also said that next to cricket Throwball is becoming more popular in UAE as these tournaments are held regularly both in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. He also appreciated KCO’s efforts in various charity deeds being done back in Mangalore and wished them good luck and all success.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Valerian Almeida (KCO) Committee member and all the tournament was conducted smoothly by Valerian Fernanded, Vivek and Joyce.

All the winners were presented with winning and runers up trophies. All the refrees and organizers too were presented with mementos and recorgnized.
The tournament ended with a happy note at about 6:30pm.
