Dubai: SMMKC Sharjah to present Wilson Olivera Nite on November 23

Dubai, 05 November 2012: SMMKC, an association affiliated to St. Michael’s Church Sharjah is all set to organize Wilson Olivera Nite on 23 rd November at Sh. Rashid Auditorium Dubai. In preparation to this mega event, a pre-event meet organized by the organizers at Winnys restaurant Karama. Dinesh Correa started the proceedings the introductory note.  SMMKC an organization affiliated to Sharjah Church completed 2 years of its existence. This organization was started with an intention to promote Konkani culture and togetherness among its community members through the funds it generates.

 

On dias President of SMMKC Mr. Lawrence D’Souza, main sponsor of the event Mr. Alfred D’Souza, advisors Mark Denis D’Souza, Joachim Menezes, business man Joseph Mathias, coordinator Uttam Menezes were present.  Earlier SMMKC president welcomed the gathering.

 

Ronald Olivera, the International fame compere briefed about the significance of the pre-event meet. He explained efforts made to make this event a huge success and requested cooperation from all leaders of associations, well-wishers and fans of Wilson Olivera.
Wilson Olivera, a talented lyricist, music composer, singer who wrote and composed more than 900 songs so far. He has released 6 music albums. Also his music created a record by selling more than 5000 copies. Wilson Olivera performed in 2002, 2005 at Al Nasr Leisure land, and 2007 in Abu Dhabi.  His singing style resembles ‘Konkan Kogul’ Wilfy Rebimbus and widely acknowledged as the torch bearer of Konkani music.

 

 

Mark Denis is the brain behind forming the Konkani association in Sharjah. Who had long cherished dream of organizing a hit musical nite in Dubai/Sharjah.  He has spent 38 years in Sharjah, motivated various organizations, talents and requested everyone’s support for this noble cause.

 

Local talents will entertain the crowd along with Rony D’Cunha and Zeena Periera. Adrian Gomes and Ramiro Mascarenhas will render music for this show. Ocean Kids and Feat beat will perform some scintillating dance numbers. Me Mo Ri team will perform rib tickling jokes.

 

Tickets for the show are priced at Dhs.100, 50 & 30 were unveiled by the sponsors and requested utmost cooperation to make this event a great success.

 

On behalf of sponsors, Joseph Mathias expressed his views and called upon all Konkani lovers to come forward and encourage the talents to perform better and realize the dream of SMMKC. Noel Mascarenhas spoke on behalf of all the associations and assured support.  He is having vast experience in organizing such great shows filled with so many challenges.

 

Uttam Menezes explained the reason behind organizing this 32nd Wilson Olivera Nite in Dubai. He stressed the importance of presence of all the community leaders. There were more than 42 local association leaders present for this meet. Everyone was recognized and given free entry passes for this show.

 

Various media representatives were also present for this pre event meet.

 

At the end Ronald Olivera proposed vote of thanks and wished all the success to the organizers. The meet concluded with prayer lead by Louis Dsouza.
