Mangalore: Inter-Parish Cricket Tournament

Mangalore, 08 June 2010: Kala Sangam, an organization to promote Konkani Theater under St Joseph’s parish, Jeppu, here organized inter-parish men’s and women’s cricket tournament on Sunday May 30 and Sunday June 6 at the parish ground.

Thirty teams of parishes under city deanery participated in the inter-parish men’s and women’s cricket tournament. The prize distribution function was held at the parish hall, here on Sunday June 6 evening.

Jeppu parish priest Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, St Joseph’s Asylum Industrial Workshops director Fr J B Crasta and Santhosh Sequeira Kankanady were the chief guests of the occasion.

The men’s cricket team of Mariyashram, Talapady won the tournament in the final tie with Cascia parish team.

The women’s cricket team of Jeppu parish won the tournament in the final tie with Angelore parish.
