Doha Qatar, 22 Sep 2012: Out of 12 contestants who participated in Gulf Voice of Mangalore-3 singing competition Remy D’Souza and Preema Pinto made it to the finals with their golden voice and now has a chance to win the most prestigious GVM-3 Winner’s trophy.
Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA) one of the leading Konkani organization of Doha Qatar had organized the Semi-Finals of Gulf Voice of Mangalore -3 at Al-Ghazal Club on Friday evening in a most organized manner. It was a beautiful Friday evening mixed with traditional Mangalorean kind of hospitality and atmosphere and also the audience had the opportunity to take part in Mangalorean traditional and most loved feast close to their heart Monti Fest.
The eagerly awaited program started off at 5.30 pm, with MCA’s anthem. Inauguration of GVM-3 Semi-finals was done by lighting the traditional lamp led by Harry Lobo (President of MCA), Jason Quadros (Vice president MCA) along with the advisory members of MCA Wilfred Fernandes, Jerry Pino , Felix Lobo and Arthur Pais on the dais. President of MCA Harry Lobo welcomed the guests and felicitated them with floralbouquets. In his welcome note, he thanked the Mangalorean audience for gathering in large numbers. He then welcomed the three jury members, namely Prem Kumar Lobo, Allwyn Noronha and Ashit Pinto and felicitated them with flower Bouquets.
Then it was time to listen and enjoy the singing competition, the moment eagerly waited by one and all in the audience, Semi-Finals of Gulf Voice of Mangalore -3. In total 12 contestants took part in this prestigious contest, 5 lady singers namely Namitha, Jovita, Preema, Wilma and Nina and 7 Male singers were Vincent, Rony,Naveen,Alphonse,Wilson, Harry and Remy (Names in the order as they appeared for singing their respective numbers)
All the 12 singers presented their songs beautifully and entertained the full crowd at the club hall. It was one of the most wonderful singing by these talented singers who sang their heart out and it was indeed was a tough time for the judges. All of them presented their songs amazingly and audience marveled at their singing talent and presentation of songs. The memorable old and new Konkani numbers presented by the golden singers were:

The wonderful Music was composed by Music city, Qatar and the musicians of the program were:Prasad Mathew-Key board, John Varghese-Tabla, KarimSariga-Keyboard, Sakir Sariga –Drums , Austin Monteiro-Bass Guitar and Joswin Pinto-Lead Guitar also the Music composer
The entire programme was compered by Konkani literary figure, writer, poet and comedian who was flown from Mangalore for the occasion CGS Tacode with his rib tickling comedy and presented beautifully and distinctly.
On the occasion his Book on Konkani comedy “TambdeGule” was released. He was also felicitated for his contribution Konkani literary world. He was presented a shawl, Memento, Certificate and a fruits bucket.
Traditional Monti Fest-NovenRoce was distributed to the gathering after the prayer led by Benjamin. Wilfred Fernandes gave his message on Monti Fest with special importance to family unity and family prayer. Allwyn Noronha, one among the jury gave his message and advice to the contestants.
The semifinalists, the Judges for the evening, local judges & MC of the audition, the Musicians were all honored by the chief Guest of the evening.
Student from the MCA family who excelled themselves in the academy field for the year 2011-2012 were honored by MCA president. They are Ashlyn Gail D’souza, Rupal Fransisca Aroza, Brian Santan Danthy, Sana Zeenal Britto and Affeney Loveney D’Souza.
In the entertainment programme that followed the official program, the judges sang some beautiful numbers. Leading vocalists of Qatar Joyce Mascarenhas and Rupert Lobo also added their singing performance to this list. Comedy skits were well performed by Aloysius D’Souza, Charles Pangla, Sandeep Noronha, Anil Cutinha, Clement Saldanha and Merlyn D’souza. Qatar’s young talents Sana Britto, Rupal aroza, Cybil D’Souza, Anushka Fernandes and Emilita Martis danced beautifully to the Konkani number “Yore Pavsa”.
Then came the most awaited breathless moment where every one was eager including the audience for the winners to be declared. Finally the moment arrived and it was the moment of glory and profound happiness to the two genius singers and that two golden singers Remy D’Souza and Preema Pinto were declared winners by the 3 members’ jury in a very closely held semi-final rounds.
The finals of the Gulf Voice of Mangalore-3 are scheduled to be held at Hotel Radisson blue Hotel Doha Qatar, on 19th of October, 2012, with other contestants from GCC countries. It too will be organized by Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA) Doha-Qatar.
Gulf voice of Mangalore was started in the year 2008 in Kuwait under the leadership of Lawrence Pinto and Louis Rodrigues and held once in every two years in the GCC countries.
