First Day of the Ganesh Chaturthi - 2012

Udupi, 20 Sep 2012: First day of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in India as the "Gouri - Programme". In this Day the married woman traditionally decorates the coconut in traditional manner. Along with it all type of nature’s grown fruits are also  decorated with flowers and Images of Lord Eshwar (Mahadeva) & Goddess Parvathi is being worshiped.

 

The male member of the Family with the Archak (priest) performs the traditional pooja and married female members do the pooja called "VAYANA POOJA". It’s of the sacred event as per Hindu Relegion of GSB Konkani Comminity.

 

 

In Poojanams, the Deepams of Ghee are lighten and Namaskarams are done to the Supreeme Lord. The Married ladies distributes the sacred coconut called as "VAYANAM" to all the married ladies present.

 

Next day most auspicious event of GANESH CHATURTHI".
