Among the three, one will be declared winner, and two will be presented with runners-up trophies on September 28 during the second anniverary celebrations of Little Flower Mukamar. The event will be held at Crystal Lounge, India Club, Oud Metha Road, Dubai.
The winner of the contest will be receiving a memento and the ’Little Flower Sadhan Puroskar Award’. The Puroskar carries a cash reward of INR 25,000.
All three regional associations have been in existence in Dubai for over a decade, and have done ideal work and rendered noble service to the society, charity for the needy, assisted in the development of parish projects, promoted Konkani culture and enabled personality development of members, equivalent to any other major association.
"Several nominations were received from each Emirate of the UAE soon after the award was announced a couple of months ago. The response to the award has been tremendous," said Godwin Corda, outgoing president of Little Flower Association.
"The purpose behind this unique idea of presenting the award is to identify the services of and honour the association as the last decade has witnessed the commencement of several parish associations in Dubai. These associations have been extending great service to their parishes, society, Konkani language and culture with all their ability and resources. Hence, it is now the time to honour and recognize their contribution to community development," he said.
