Shirva: Lions Club observes Mother Theresa Day

Shirva, 29 August 2012: Shirva, 29 August 2012: The Lions Club, Shirva-Manchakal organized “Mother Theresa Day” on 27th August, 2012 at Shirva to commemorate the 102nd birth anniversary of the noblest apostle of peace of the 20th century.

 

Prof. M. Balakrishna Shetty, Principal, S.D.P.T.College, Kateel enlightened the gathering on the outstanding work  done by Mother Theresa to bring hope into the lives of thousands of people suffering from physical pain, mental agony and socio-economic deprivation. It was a fitting tribute to the humble Nobel laureate who preached the universal brotherhood of man and fatherhood of God.

 

 

Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro greately appreciated the efforts of the Lions Club, Shirva-Manchakal in organizing a meaningful programme.

 

Ln. Melwyn Aranha, President of Lions Club, Shirva-Manchakal presided over the programme.

 

District Governor MJF Ln Madhusudhan Hegde appreciated the Lions Club, Shirva-Manchakal for being the first Club to organize successfully the District Programme.

 

Vice District Governor PMJF Suresh Prabhu, Zone Chairperson Ln Ronald Menezes, LCIF Co-ordinator MJF Ln LawranceDsouza and District Secretary MJF Ln N. M. Hegde graced the occasion.

 

The President of Lions Club, Shirva welcomed the guests and the gathering. Ln Norbert Machado was the Master of Ceremony. The entire programme was efficiently conducted by the Co-ordinator Ln Wilson Dsouza.

 

The programme was followed by a theme oriented skit depicting the ideals of equality and harmony by the students of St. Mary’s P.G. Centre( MSW), Shirva.

 

Secretary Ln Ramananda Shettigar proposed the vote of thanks.
